We had an exciting visit...

from Teesha and Tracy Moore.  They were doing some traveling after teach in San Jose and stopped by.  I can't believe we did not get a pic of them but we so busy talking and have a delish snack at Susan's Solvang Bakery, I did not take any pictures.
Teesha has some nice shots of the ART CLINIC on her blog if you want to visit her....always a treat for the eyes to see what she is up to.  T and T are celebs here at the ART CLINIC.  They have opened up our art world to a whole new "continent".....the land of Zettiology!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

*We sent along the 1000 journal we had here with them.

May classes 2009- Etched metal and Metal clay

Above the black and white horse is a stamp I carved and beside it is the etched copper image. Notice the silver bird beside the etched copper bird. That bird was stamped using a rolling mill. I love art!!!

Metal Clay May 9, 2009 9-4PM Call by April 29, 2009 to make your reservation as we need to order supplies. Fee $110 includes 1 oz of Fine Silver Clay and everything needed to create beautiful charms and pendants. ($35 for open studio)

Metal clay is fine particles of 99.9% fine silver, which when combined with an organic binder and water can be manipulated like clay. When fired in a kiln or with a torch the binder is burned away leaving the metal in solid form. It can be sculpted, cast and textured to create beautiful fine jewelry. This is the perfect medium for the novice and professional alike.

Hand carved stamps, etching plates and stamping metal

May 30, 2009 9-4PM $85 Includes copper, silver and stamp material. In this workshop we will take an idea, create a stamp from it, use it as a resist to etch metal creating a textured plate and use that textured plate to stamp into silver. The stamp can be used for paper and collage work as well as a resist for etching; the etched metal can be used as an element in jewelry and/or can be used to create unique charms in Sterling Silver. Some cold connection techniques will be demonstrated. This is a fun and informative class for those interested in expanding their jewelry making abilities. Space is limited - Material list available with sign-up. http://www.faceaday.blogspot.com check out my blog for examples of stamped silver. (you gotta scroll down)
